Clean out a Trash Trap! Cleaning out a trash trap (a barrier that catches litter n a stream) gives groups the chance to monitor the amount of trash collected by a trash trap, organize clean-outs and participate in keeping local waterways clean. Wear closed-toed shoes with good traction. Wear clothes that can get wet or muddy. Bring waders and/or hip boots if you have them. There will be extra waders and gloves on hand for anyone that wants to get in the creek. A signup sheet and forms (liability waiver and Volunteer Code of Conduct) for adoption of the Trash Trap for a month this spring will be at the February meeting. (Note: Wake County libraries carry four copies.) This book delves into the fierce, and at times unethical, competition among early American ornithologists. It also includes a mini-biography of Kaufman and the influence of John James Audubon on his life and career as a prominent American author, artist, naturalist, and conservationist. Kaufman is known for his work on several popular field guides of birds and butterflies in North America. ECPI University, 4101 Doie Cope Road, Raleigh, NC 27613. There is just one building, one main entrance and most classrooms are on the second floor. We will most likely meet in room 206. We need volunteers for our Spring 2025 Stream Cleanup. Help us keep our waters clean! Wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get wet and dirty. Waterproof boots are recommended. There are no bridges to cross the small stream, so you may have to rock hop or step in the water to get to both sides. Also bring a water bottle, extra work gloves, bucket and hand clippers if you have them. Your phone, wallet, and car keys need to be SECURELY STOWED on your person. There are two restrooms with composting toilets (two rooms under one roof just off of the parking lot), and they are all-gender. Keep in mind there is no running water in the restrooms, and there are no water fountains. Please bring your own water. We'll bring plenty of snacks to share. What bird species frequent the Park?
